Hiking with Shilo

One of Shilo's favourite pastimes is to go out into the woods for a good hike.
We try to take her when the weather permits or there's not a Nascar race LOL!

Burnt Sugar on Stainless Steel Pot

Yesterday I decided to take some not so good eating plums and cook them up to stewed plums as my Mum said that the ones she got turned out pretty good when they were cooked.

So not to waste them I cooked them..........a bit (lot) too long. They turned into about an inch think BLACK hard mess in the bottom of the pan.

I put in some baking soda, brought it to the boil, turned it off and let it sit overnight. What do I wake up to? Still a burnt BLACK hard mess.

So I used the powers of google.

What do I find? A message board saying to put hydrogen peroxide in the pot and boil it. So this is what I did. About an hour later.....I get a pot that looks brand new. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't tried it.

What a great idea......one to put in my household binder for future reference.
