Burnt Sugar on Stainless Steel Pot

Yesterday I decided to take some not so good eating plums and cook them up to stewed plums as my Mum said that the ones she got turned out pretty good when they were cooked.

So not to waste them I cooked them..........a bit (lot) too long. They turned into about an inch think BLACK hard mess in the bottom of the pan.

I put in some baking soda, brought it to the boil, turned it off and let it sit overnight. What do I wake up to? Still a burnt BLACK hard mess.

So I used the powers of google.

What do I find? A message board saying to put hydrogen peroxide in the pot and boil it. So this is what I did. About an hour later.....I get a pot that looks brand new. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't tried it.

What a great to put in my household binder for future reference.

  2. Where would one buy this peroxide? 'Amway' products are also excellent for pots like that. My hubby has some L.O.C. he bought years ago from Amway (I used to sell the stuff in the 80's).
